Winter Wonderland Princess Ball

My daugther's Girl Scouts Troop certainly keeps us busy with activities.  My daughter and I recently attended a Winter Wonderland Princess Ball coordinated by a local event planning company, Elegant Tea Celebrations.  After fussing and pouting about having to find a dress to wear to the event, I pulled it together and actually felt quite special (and pretty) on the day of the event.  Any other full-time working mother understands all too well that aside from clothes I wear to the office, the only clothes I want to see on the weekends are sweats and t-shirts.  Because my kids are still so young I am constantly carrying them around on my hip, cleaning up behind them, and changing stinky diapers -- not the tasks I would say are worthy of my Sunday's best.  Not to mention, the weight I've held onto since I had my precious boys only 10 months apart always causes me to kringe when I think about having to shop for clothes.  But I did it!  I found a cute black dress, put on some fishnet stockings and 3 1/2 inch pumps, and felt like the "Belle of the Ball" (even though the event was really all about the miniature princesses).  This was one of the most special occasions I have attended in a while and was some great mother and daughter time.
