REVIEW: Carol’s Daughter Magical Beauty Collection

Disney Consumer Products and Carol’s Daughter, the authentic hair, fragrance and body care line inspired by nature, have collaborated in celebration of Disney’s newest princess in more than ten years and the first African American Princess, Tiana. The Carol’s Daughter Magical Beauty Collection, inspired by Disney’s film The Princess and the Frog which began showing in theaters on December 11, 2009, is a four-piece line celebrating Princess Tiana’s hard work, determination, natural beauty, and universal appeal. Needless to say, my 5-year-old daughter was thrilled to receive the shampoo, conditioner, and bubble bath from the Magical Beauty Collection and insisted on taking a bath and having her hair shampooed right away. She has been a Princess Tiana fan ever since we saw the movie with her Girl Scouts Troop a few days after it was released in theaters. The movie was simply magical and captivated both adults and children in the audience. Princess Tiana gives women and girls a new role model, who exemplifies all of the qualities of a true princess, and the Magical Beauty Collection captures the essence of Tiana’s story of inner beauty and believing in your dreams. When the Magical Beauty Collection arrived, I could see the sparkle in my daughter’s eyes as though she had been longing for these products in order to indulge in a feeling of luxury and lather, befitting of a true princess. As a mother, I was tickled to see her excitement and comforted by the fact that these products were made of natural, gentle ingredients. I was even more impressed with how well the products lathered despite the gentle ingredients. Each product contains an adorable photo from the movie along with an inspirational message reflecting the values and lessons that Tiana learns during her journey.
